2. Army Staff Sgt. Special Agent Richard S. Eaton Jr., Scholarship

This scholarship honors a fallen US military hero. Applicants must be students pursuing a career “related to Alliance Building, Counterintelligence, Cultural Understanding, and National Security Studies.” The scholarship is an essay contest focusing on a priority held by the Lint Center. 3. COAG Scholarship
Deadline: April 1
The COAG Scholarship is available to a Georgia high school senior entering an undergraduate degree program that pertains to government, law enforcement, political science, accounting, finance, business, or pre-law. Applicant may also be currently enrolled in a program within the state of Georgia. This organization awards three scholarships at $1,500, $1,000, and $500. The application package requires a 1,000 word essay following a prompt set by COAG that changes yearly. 6. GWCF National Scholarship Competition

The GWCF National Scholarship Competition focuses on students intending a career in government service. The Competition is open to all high school seniors and must be accompanied by recommendation from the high school principal or guidance counselor. The HORIZONS Foundation Scholarship, coordinated through Women in Defense, is open to enrolled undergraduate students who have accrued at least 60 credit hours. Applicants must have demonstrated intent to pursue a career related to national defense or national security. 10. Intercollegiate Studies Institute Essay Contest

The Intercollegiate Studies Institute offers an essay contest, open to current undergraduate students. The essay contest awards three prizes: $5,000 first prize, $3,000 runner up, and $1,000 third prize. Undergraduate students of all disciplines are invited to read Russell Kirk’s “The Question of Social Justice” and respond to the question “Is Social Justice Just?” The essay draws out the reader’s response to the provocative Kirk text, calling for critiques of political parties, but it does not call for a particular political slant in its argumentation. 11. Jim & Anna Hyonjoo Lint Scholarship

The Jim & Anna Hyonjoo Lint Scholarship is presented by the Lint Center for National Security Studies, Inc., and exists to support the education of students intending to serve in international affairs, counterintelligence, and national security. The Lebanese American Heritage Club Scholarship is available to Michigan residents of Arab descent who are U.S. Citizens and who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 13. Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Program

The Massachusetts AFL-CIO supports working men and women of the state of Massachusetts as the state’s largest labor organization. In addition to criteria that allows individuals affiliated with the union to apply for scholarships, the non-affiliated high school seniors of Massachusetts are eligible to sit for an annual exam, given in February.
