Teacher associations and universities across the United States are now offering scholarships for Spanish education majors to lower the cost of college tuition. Spanish education degrees are often available at the bachelor’s or master’s level to give aspiring educators the language fluency to teach K-12 or college Spanish. Most majors will study abroad and take cultural immersion trips to truly embrace the lifestyle of Spanish-speaking countries.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, foreign language is one of the critical teacher shortage areas. There’s a high need for Spanish education majors to teach bilingual and ESL students as well. Spanish is America’s fastest-growing language with the number of speakers spiking 233% since 1980. If you have a knack for this Romance language and a passion for teaching, consider applying for some of the following 25 Spanish education scholarships.
